Anti-rotation pin is a part when you’re using ceramic ball beairng turbocharger, which stops the outer ring of the bearing cartridge assembly from rotating relative to the bearing housing, as its name indicates. In that way, by locking the bearing, the rotor shaft turns and transfers the power from turbine side to compressor side. This locking allows a damping oil film / squeeze film between the outer ring and center housing.

Not only that, anti-rotation pin also functions as oil passage with holes inside for letting pass the oil input into the turbocharger bearing housing for lubricating and removing heat.
